Peace keeping...

let the other be 'right'

or at least 'more' right....

when you get 2 hard headed partners together,

there can become habitual sparks,  But it you let the other be 'more' right....

there is some agreement or at least a way to proceed...

I like to observe the old Perry Mason Movies...

Perry has to lean on suspects a bit, and they come back miffed or angry...
and say:

" I don't like your insinuations, Mr Mason !"

Mason would say : " I would think you wouldn't".

Mason seemed be angry at times kind at others.

But he is only a master of moods - like most actors...

However as a Character, he is a master of the Mood harp...

He can run up the mood ladder from deep resentment and rage to
joyous laughter, in the blink of an eye...

How does he do this?

Non-attachment 

He has control of his speech, and inner moods to portray them  outwardly, to produce a result...

Mason is not actually Angry or sad or other mood he is at peace inside..
or may be some what nervous -but performs anyway...

In my opinion a missile or an army is not a "peace keeper"

Only the person who has found peace inside - like Gandhi, can hold the peace outside...

"Seek Yea first the kingdom of Heaven and all else shall be added unto you"  ... says the bible..(King James)

This is the task, the fist Mountain we need to climb,

let others be, agree with them in some way,

give up the need to be 'right' your self....

and be 'Right' in you peace inside...

practice, makes perfect...
be ready for lotsa mistakes...

and have fun...

A little more each day...

IN the days of the old educational system called apprenticeship, a student left home to live with the teacher or Master at age 7.

what did he do?  (Women at this time stayed at home till married)
swept the floor, carried water, chopped wood
 ~or in Master Miagee of Karate Kid = wax on wax off

the student also got up earlier than his teacher and went to bed after his teacher.
so what?

Well is shows just how week we are today kids going to be at 3 am and getting up at 3 pm...
any how...

How to get ahead? don't be like everyone else...
do a little bit more than is required or expected.

If you work for yourself - make an additional phone call or write another paragraph, or...

If you work for boss they will see this over time and you may be rewarded if not-
your own work ethic will reward you.

You will have more inner strength more stamina and the Universe will know this too.

you will be demonstrating to the universe that you are a bit better than most.

It a telepathic universe and opportunities, as well a people will come into your life to match your
abilities and desires...

all with just a bit more, daily

When Honesty Causes Pain...

Howdy.

We have rules to follow so that one knows what to do when. i.e.:

1~driving along we keep to the right side of the road, the other car keeps to its right side (our left) and all is fine.
But what happens if the on coming driver is drunk? and it's a 2 lane road in the country, with steep ditches for shoulders, and this on coming driver is weaving all over the road, and you both are doing 60? good luck.

Well after the messy results whatever they may be, you discover by the Grace of the virgin Mary you both are alive and unharmed. Then you find this is your best friend. Both cars are damaged and you have to notify the police, insurance companies etc. No problem you have a cell phone.

But you remember that your best friend will be found DWI for the 3 time, they will have to go to jail and loose their license for 2 years. Their little baby is depending on this drunk driver for support - what do you do?

Tough decision you have to tell the truth or else...

2~You are at work, you know the boss has strict rules about not using the phone or cell phone on his time for personal calls. You know the person in the cube is bending this rule 3 -4 times daily. What to do? If she or he is good friend you may have another rule that says I have to protect them over the boss - I mean the boss is a BOSS and this is a FRIEND...
if this is an competitive enemy in the office and your job is on the line then.. well I have to...

can you see that we are wishy washy? Circumstances demand flexibility and reality demands something else. But who studies this stuff?

The military does. In Rainbow 6 this crack military team practices constantly for any possible scenario. Police practice regularly to keep the shooting up and to recognise the good guys from the bad. See Clint in Magnum Force the shooting competition and practice set is amazing. I have a lot admiration for what these agencies have to go through, practice and know.

Oh yes stages of 'knowing'
1 hear about a subject
2 Read about it get familiar with it
3 Study the subject get more familiar with it.
4 Practice the subject - get some basic skill
5 Gain better skill levels with more practice
6 Gain Mastery with more practice and real life application
7 teach others

we do a great disservice to our High School Grads to give them a diploma for only reading, and becoming familiar with subjects with out any practice, skill, nor mastery demonstrated.

Now the belief is instilled in them that they "KNOW ' this and they don't.

lets say it this way Rules:

We have to have guidelines
One way a Yogi perishes is by keep strict vows...

lets say he takes the vow:
I will do no harm - I will offend no one.

And he takes the vow:
I will eat only vegetarian food not killing for meat.

He accepts an invitation to go Christmas dinner with a respected group of friends.
Upon discovering the Hostess has made great pains to raise her beef, grass feed it,
slaughter it with honor and prayers, and will be highly offended if her guest don't eat it....

What will the Yogi do? He now has to violate at least one of his vows...

Which one?

Well like the great practical Master Yogi Swami Shivananda observed:
One perishes not by what goes into ones mouth but by what comes out of it...

So flexibility is needed ~ at the correct time.

At other times strength is needed.

If your job is quality control and you let poor quality products through manufactured by your fiend who will loose their job if discovered again.... and you make vital parts for aircraft navigation? who do you hurt? the friend or the thousands whose lives depend on your companies parts?

You simple have to study this situation and get it straight in your mind and heart.

This is why these are called foundational principals why in Yoga this is step # 1

Cause no harm.
Be Honest.
and a few more more we will look at.

lets look at integrity and what does this mean? I feel to most Ladies I have heard define this it means that a man won't look at another lady or as Jesus said "I say if you have committed adultery in your heart, you have already committed adultery" Yes purity is a high state indeed...
but one must work slowly in this direction if that is the desired goal.

Integrity means so much more than fidelity.

lets look at the definition of integrity in concrete -- If you pour a concrete floor in skyscraper,
that concrete has to hold a load of so many pounds per square foot equally everywhere on the floor - or trouble.

The aircraft is only as good as the weakest part, a team as its weakest member, a car as good as its driver.

A yogi with out these foundational principles in place and understood and mastered will not reach his or her goal...there will be to many distractions.

So if you beat yourself up = you will fail,
if you fail to discipline yourself = you will fail
When an ice skaters falls down in the Olympics = get up and keep on skating
If you fail to get up = you will fail
If you fail to try you will fail
Quit to early = fail
Over do the activity = you will fail

Practice makes perfect
Too Much practice you become obsessed with practice.

So the middle way is balance

make a little progress daily.

Because I said so...

How do we write out own Karma?

you got it ~ out of the mouth of Babes...

What we say is what we get.

One of the worst habits we seem to have in america is the say it one way on do it never or whenever...

We write law ~our own law when we say: I'll pick you up at 6 PM for dinner and a movie.
Ladies - how do you feel when he shows up an hour and a half late?

How does your boss feel when you show at 9:06 am every day and then go and get coffee for 10 minutes at the machine and then have to go to the bath room?

These are breaches in honesty. In America we have a serious problem with this bad habbit.
What are the effects? In industry we see that american businesses are going out of business more and more.
What would happen if our bosses actually got 8 hours of work out of us? or maybe at least 6 hours?
But who cares about the boss ? right? well this is devistating attitude as well ... Please alow me to explain.

You say to your self I will do the laundry tonight when I get home so I'll have clean unerwear for work tomorrow. You get home fix dinner, relax and read all the junk mail then the junk email, then you friend calls, you talk for an hour, then news has the same old, same old on and ....

You arrive at work the next day with dirty undies on -- no big deal right theres always tonight...
RIGHT>>>

Lets look at your main power house - the real doer in your life...
WHO is this my mother? Well may be here clone... ( I understand that some mothers now actually go into the boss to go to bat for the kid... how destructive...)

Let me ask you this.. who wakes you up in the am? a clock at radio announcer or you?
Who digests your food? (What is guy talking about?)Pumps your blood?
Who drives your car? Rides your bicycle?

You think you do right? Well think again, Think back to when you first tried to drive...
remember the jumping back and forth as you tried to master the clutch, gas & break?
That was you driving your car then... but you trained yourself.. right?

How many times did you fall off your bike in the beginning?

What do Olympian athletes do? Do they think about every stroke in the pool? No, they just focus on the out come and practice and the swim it...

Can you see what is going on yet?

This power house the companion self ~ some call this the sub conscious mind - OK - I believe it is very powerful child like person or the African American actor in the "'Green Mile' the one who needed a bit of direction ~ but the one who held all of the power.

This companion self can know what you can't see, like dowse for the contents of a box, or where water is underground (or gold for that matter); even what cards are coming next in a poker game. This friend ~or enemy ~ of yours is very powerful. It also holds all or most of the emotions ~ your real fuel...

It is trainable like a dog or dolphin, but knows that you are the boss. If you refuse to decide it will. When I was having prediabetic symptoms about 20 years ago I could not remember where I was going when driving. But I always drove home, I may have missed the errand but the horse always took me back to the barn.

Humm I have a friend who can actually sleep while driving - he keeps one eye slightly open ~ his companion self drives for him too. Another friend of mine reads books the same way while he drives... - I don't recommend this by the way. One friend actually can drive blind folded in the city! The point is we are abusing our companion selves.

Companion selves are like highly trained sheep herding dogs, highly intelligent, talented, love to play, and have lots of energy to run all day long. We keep them in an apartment in our laps...
What a shame.

OK honesty: We say I'll be there at 6 pm or at 8:00 ready to work and we don't do what get this
WE SAY ... we tell our selves one thing and do another.
So when we say I will be successful what is the companion self trained to do? do the opposite or another...

You like failing? eep lyng to yourself - your companion self ~ can you see now how you create your won Karma? Because I said so... you write the law...

A spiritual power that may seem insignificant to the unawear and the hypnotised by Society and TV ads etc it the ability to be some where when you say so.. let me emphasize this more
THE ABILITY TO BE SOMEWHERE WHEN YO DAY SO = is a very powerful spiritual power.

Think about this "I'll pick up at 6 PM" and you are there at exactly 6 PM sharp.
Ok 1~ you had to train your self to honor your word ~ to mean what you say ~
2~ you had to avoid accidents, running out of gas, bad roads and mayb weather to get there.
3~ you had to know how to drive effectively, obey the laws, know the directions, read a map

yet you take this for granted, and place no value in it - Why should your companion self pay any attention to you? you don't honer him or her either - do you thank them? Tell them you appreciate them? Do you even know they are there?

Who digests your food? keeps your heart beating for 100 years? But how do you treat this wonderful companion self. ?
By making there job almost impossible. (NO way!)

You drink cokes instead of water, Sugar and white flower instead of whole grains and honey.
get the picture? You poor cheep gas into a rocket needing rocket fuel... get it?
Because I said so... you are the captain of your ship. will you be honest and be celebrated by all like the Enterprise ? or condemed by all like the Valdez in Alaskan waters? or simple unknown by all...

What will you write today?

Oh, yes please take it easy on yourself.
You haven't expected any decent results before so go slowly.
You will have to slowly get your companion self's attention
~ you've never even acknowledge her or him before, so this may take awhile

how to get the attention of the companion self?
simple reward and punishment. Just like training a dog.

Try this put a fat rubber band around one wrist. And if you like ice cream get that favorite one in the refirigerator.
OK You decide you will say 'I will be at work at 8 Am sharp , coffe in hand, done in the bathroom, ready to work' you may even try talking to your companion self if this method suits you.
Or you may like to be Captain of the ship and give commands - what ever you style.. here we go.

ok you get there at 8:02 today and ready to go. Ok you congratulate your companion self, have big tablespoon of the icecream when you get home...

Tomorrow same thing but you are ready at 8:07 now snap the rubber band on your wrist so it stings just a little. and let your companion self know it can do better.

get the idea. You can change your life ~ you have the power.
But you have to be honest with yourself.
